About Me
Hi there! I am currently the Vice President at Morgan Stanley, leading initiatives in the Prime Brokerage group within the Institutional Securities Group. Previously, I was a Lead Software Engineer at Ford Model E (EV Division), where I designed the core notification backend for Ford’s electric vehicles.
Prior to Ford, I spent nearly a decade at Microsoft as a Senior Software Engineer on the Bing team, contributing to user engagement, search relevance, data mining, and natural language processing.
My journey began with internships at Microsoft, HP Labs, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, and the Defense Institute of Advanced Technology. During my undergraduate studies at BITS Pilani (Goa), I served as a Teaching Assistant and the chief coordinator of the departmental magazine. I later earned my Master’s in Computer Science from UCLA.

Senior Software Engineer

Lead engineer for all Bing.com gaming segment projects, influencing the team charter and execution to align with and deliver on key business priorities effectively. Pioneered several high-impact gaming projects, including GoBig, Livestream, automated highlights, eSport answers, and entity pane experiences which were instrumental to Bing.com against its competitor search engines for all gaming queries by 16% points.
1. Livestream project on Bing, MSN, and Microsoft Start
● As part of the Microsoft gaming team, I designed and built a Livestream and highlight scheduler from scratch that’s responsible for ingesting and indexing
Livestream videos and highlight videos of 1000+ games from Twitch, Youtube gaming, and Facebook gaming on a regular cadence.
● Built the front end using ASP.NET MVC utilizing C#, Javascript, Ajax, HTML, and CSS and designed the data store.
● The data was ingested into Azure Cosmos DB NoSQL databases and Azure SQL databases.
● Designed scalable REST APIs using Azure API Management Server to serve live streams, highlights, and videos of different games.
● Flighted the experience for A/B testing and iterated over A/B testing results.
● This project was part of our efforts to build a Livestream video platform for gamers and involved collaborating with four other teams.
● The main challenge of this project was ensuring that we index and show fresh highly ranked content to our end customers on Bing.com in real-time while
ensuring low latency.

2. GoBig Gaming project on Bing
● As part of the Bing.com gaming team, I designed and built experiences for 3000+ games. The search experience showcased the game's official website, social
media information, Wikipedia links, live streams, videos, online websites to buy the games on different platforms like Windows, Linux, and Xbox, discussion
servers for different games, and more detailed related information.
● Built the front end using ASP.NET MVC architecture utilizing JavaScript, Ajax, HTML, and CSS and designed an online fresh key-value data store that served
data directly to Bing.com search query.
● The data was ingested into Azure Cosmos DB NoSQL databases and Azure SQL.
● The project involved collaborating with three other teams. The main challenge of this project was ensuring that we cater to different types of gamers and keep
them happy.

3. eSports Answers on Bing
● Designed and built eSports experiences for 20+ games including league of legends and dota for eSports users.
● Built a binary classifier for detecting video game segments and built a classifier to extract eSports entities from the query.
● Deployed the model in a microservice container to be utilized by the query result directly on the bing.com stack.
● The search experience showcased the latest and top events, matches, players, teams, team stats, player stats, game videos, and game tweets to esports followers.
● The data ingestion was Azure cron-based static scheduler.
● Built polling APIs for conventional clients and push update APIs for change detection.
● The push update APIs resulted in 70% capacity savings.
● The experience started with 4 games and was scaled out to 20+ games.
● This experience was later globalized and shipped to 100+ languages and 200+ regions across the world.
● My responsibilities included designing, integrating, and implementing the end to end pipeline and experiences.

I am truly passionate about sketching, especially in black and white. I find the art of pencil shading and working with charcoal incredibly captivating, as it lets me delve into the intricate details and contrasts that make a drawing come alive. The simplicity of black and white, paired with the rich textures these mediums offer, provides me with a unique outlet to express my creativity and capture the essence of my subjects. Whether I’m working on a portrait or a landscape, I derive immense joy and satisfaction from the process of creating these artworks.
